The tagline “A church for people who aren’t into church” is what The Meeting House tries to be to those who have given up on religion. Bruxy and his family live in Hamilton, Ontario.
Michael has been the Teaching Pastor for more than 19 years at Southridge Community Church, a multisite church with 3 locations in Niagara, Ontario. A student at heart, Mike has earned a Bachelors of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is currently a PhD student at McMaster Divinity, exploring the formative power of liturgy to shape the Church into a missional community. In his preaching, he attempts to blend a thoughtful and culturally-sensitive understanding of the biblical text with a practical, down-to-earth perspective on how to follow its direction towards loving God with everything we have and are and loving each other as much as we love ourselves. He and his best friend, Christa, have been married for more than 12 years and are raising four beautiful girls: Arleigh (9), Kennedy (8), Trevi (7) and Brylee (5).
Patti has ministered in urban settings for over 20 years, currently serving as Lead Pastor at Evangel Church in Montreal, after pastoring in both Hamilton and Toronto. She is passionate about urban ministry, the nation of Ukraine, and helping to make a way for women called to be pastors. Patti is a storyteller with a sense of humour and a fierce belief that God deeply values people.
Mike is first and foremost a son of God, a husband to Michelle, a father of 3, and a Kelowna boy through-and-through! A grad of Trinity Western University and ACTS seminary with a background in broadcast journalism, Mike has a passion for sharing the life changing news of Jesus Christ in understandable and captivating ways. He has pastored at two churches in Kelowna for 16 years, but his speaking has taken him around the country to camps, conferences and churches.
Tim is Teaching Pastor at Kelowna’s Trinity Church and National Pastor for Willow Creek Canada. Tim has the unique vantage point of both “being in the game” himself and being positioned to observe what God is up to coast to coast. This enables him to share best Kingdom practices in a meaningful way to local congregations everywhere. Tim is perhaps best known as a passionate Biblical communicator and for his involvement outside the walls of the church. His ongoing work with the RCMP and major junior hockey keep his community connection current. Tim is married with two adult children and is an avid long distance runner, cyclist and karate enthusiast.
Ken is Senior Pastor of Tenth Church in Vancouver, BC, one of the largest and most diverse city-center churches in Canada. Before entering pastoral ministry, he worked for the Sony Corporation in Tokyo. He is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal awarded to Canadians in recognition for their outstanding contribution to the country. Ken is the author of the international bestseller ‘God in My Everything’. Ken lives in Vancouver with his wife, Sakiko, and their son, Joey.
Jared E. Alcántara
Jared is an Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he’s been teaching since 2014. His most recent book Crossover Preaching examines the homiletical contribution of one of the best African American preachers of the 20th century, Rev. Dr. Gardner C. Taylor. Jared has served as a youth pastor and associate pastor in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Oregon and, from 2010-2014, he was a teaching pastor in Ewing, New Jersey.
He is passionate about equipping students to preach God’s Word in ways that are faithful, effective, clear, creative, and inspiring. He lives in the Chicagoland area with his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters.
